ABOVE GROUND TAILINGS OPERATIONS – PHASE 1
After six years of acquiring gold concessions and tailings in Ghana and several recent months of planning and testing procedures on this tailings project, on September 29, 2016 TAB-Forest received the final testing results of its owned/controlled above ground gold tailings stockpiles located in the Brong Ahafo Region and the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The metallurgical testing was completed by ALS Minerals (www.alsglobal.com), one of the world’s largest and most respected metallurgical testing companies. Shortly thereafter, TAB-Forest’s geological consultant on the project, WJLC Company LTD., submitted its report of the findings and project recommendations. WJLC is highly qualified and worked closely with TAB-Forest and ALS Minerals on sample collection, analysis and Heap Leach Facility design.
The tailings stockpiles currently owned/controlled by TAB-Forest encompass approximately 788,000 metric tons of above ground gold tailings stockpiles in Ghana, West Africa. (A further description of gold tailings is presented below.)
The gold tailings stockpiles are located in two general areas, termed “Site Groups” herein. Each Site Group represents a cluster of sites that are in very close proximity. Each of the two gold tailings facilities is located centrally within its respective Site Group.
The table below summarizes the findings of the testing related to the TAB-Forest owned/controlled gold tailings stockpiles:
Site Group 1
Site Group 2
Total Metric Tons of Tailings
Average Grams per ton (Head Grade)
Average Recovery Rate
Recoverable Troy Ounces
TAB-Forest is in the process of building Heap Leach Facilities on each of the two Site Groups. Each facility is being designed to process up to 300 tons per day, or approximately 90,000 tons per year. For more information related to this project, please Contact Us
